SIGNALING GATEWAY-UNIVERSAL SIGNALING POINT
- The Universal Signaling Point (USP) is the signaling gateway between circuit switched and packet networks. It conforms to the Internet Protocol Signaling 7 (IPS7) standard and provides seamless interworking for packet networks controlled by the Communication Server 2000 or Communication Server 2000 — Compact.
The Communication Server 2000 — Compact may also use a card for the SS7 signaling gateway function.

MEDIA GATEWAY - MG 3200
- The Ericsson Media Gateway 3200 connects up to 16 spans (480 E1 or 384 T1 trunks) to a packet network. It is controlled by a Communication Server 2000, Communication Server 2000 — Compact or Communication Server 2100 (enterprise applications) through the H.248 standard protocol, or by the Multimedia Communications Server 5200 through the SIP standard protocol. It operates on AC or DC power and requires 1 rack unit mounting space.

MEDIA GATEWAY - MG 3500
- Ericsson Media Gateway 3500 connects up to 96 E1 or T1 spans (2,880 E1 voice channels or 2,304 T1 voice channels) to a packet network. It is controlled by a Communication Server 2000 or a Communication Server 2000 - Compact through the H.248 standard control protocol. It operates on redundant AC or DC power and requires 5 rack units mounting space.
